Edinburgh

Hello everyone! Today I'll write you about my weekend trip to the capital city of Scotland, that is Edinburgh.

So last Friday, as a birthday gift for myself, I went to Edinburgh for the 1st time ever, and I gotta tell you that I really liked it there...even though it was windy, a bit rainy and cold.

So let's start with some information about the city. It is situated in Lothian on the Firth of Forth's southern shore. It has been the capital of the country since the 15th century and is the seat of the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament and the supreme courts of Scotland.

The city's cute little streets and a rich history makes it a really amazing place to explore. You can spend there many days and you will still have places to see. The buildings made in a victorian style make the city look like a fairytale. It is a truly magical place....

....given, this is the place where Harry Potter was "born". In the picture above we can see a cafe where J.K.Rowling wrote Harry Potter. There are many shops with everything that may remind you of the famous wizard and you can also attend a tour that will show you all the places that have been an inspiration for the books, such as The Victoria Street.

Also, if you're in Edinburgh in December don't forget to visit the Christmas Market. It is one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets I've ever seen. There are so many pretty things to buy and see.

I totally recommend a trip to this gorgeous city. Also the Scottish people are suuuper nice and will give you advice and directions to anywhere...all you need to do is try to understand their accent!
